FAQ
The best place to start with the Soul Figures Method is the Universal Archetype known as the Inner Guide. This is one of three Universal Archetypes who everyone must work with first, before diving into the specific archetypes emphasized in your natal chart. When you sign up for our mailing list, you immediately get a nice and neat little PDF introducing you to The Inner Guide and access to the Meet the Inner Guide audio meditation in our Members Only Resources. When you sign up for the full method, there are additional tools and information about The Inner Guide to cover more learning styles and a more in depth perspective, but the free tool is a comprehensive starting point that compliments the full method but also stands on its own.
Only twenty minutes, once per week. Because of the depth of this type of work, doing it less frequently is actually recommended. Plan to spend no more than once per week, especially in the beginning.
Absolutely not! You don’t need to know anything about astrology, depth psychology, tarot, or have experience with meditation for this method to work for you. It is fully guided, engages your imagination, and is designed to fit you and your personal, unique mind.
YES. We have specifically designed this tool to be useful to people of a variety of thinking and learning styles. This is why we have custom tarot images to focus on for those who prefer to keep their eyes open, and Step-by-Step worksheets (in the full Soul Figures Method) for those linear thinkers!
Yes — the Soul Figures Method appeals to many skeptics. It’s grounded in Jungian psychology and doesn’t depend on predicting the future or relying on external forces. Our background in both symbolic (tropical) and observational (sidereal) astrology gives us a broad, balanced view, but the method itself works independently of astrology. It’s a framework for understanding inner patterns, and many skeptical clients have found it surprisingly practical (see Testimonials).
Not necessarily. The analytical foundation to this approach means that you can enjoy approaching astrology and symbols as a system of organization for the psyche, regardless of your existing spiritual or religious beliefs – and even if you have no spiritual inclination at all.
Soul Figures introduces you to your Shadow as a core archetype, one that is definitely not “bad” or “evil” or in need of being “transmuted.” The Shadow is the Inner Twin, our inner best friend – and it is also our “Twin Soul.” This approach to shadow work is a radical homecoming. It’s rooted in Love with a capital L and self-nurturing, and it’s quite sweet!
Oh boy yes! Soul Figures will amplify, help organize, and create a much greater context around any existing work you do with your esoteric tools. All of these tools come from the same place, after all. The one catch is that Soul Figures might ultimately make you feel like you can transcend a lot of the limiting beliefs you might have inherited from studying your “personality” in various systems – but that ain’t a bad thing, is it?
No. The Soul Figures Method is not a replacement for therapy.
These exercises can support your emotional well-being and deepen your self-understanding, but they don’t take the place of working with a trained mental health professional. The archetypal meditation and Inner Guide work can complement therapy beautifully — they can even make the inner work you do in therapy feel richer.
If you’re currently struggling with mental health concerns, or have in the past (as most of us have), it’s wise to use this method alongside a counselor rather than instead of one. Think of it as one tool within a larger self-care ecosystem.
Totally normal. For many people, it takes a session or two for the mind to relax into the process. Just stick to the rhythm — 20 minutes, once a week — and let things develop naturally. Paying attention to dreams or reflective moments can help, but there’s no need to force anything.
