Astrology Transits 2026
June 9th and 10th, 2026, we have the two lucky benefics together at 00°-01° sidereal Cancer. This is like having the prom queen and her handsome, sensitive, kind, mature quarterback boyfriend (just go with it) standing on stage, crowned and bedazzled with flowers and cheers all around. For those who might be turned off by the heteronormativity and capitalist mainstream nature of this type of prom queen/quarterback “Todd and Buffy” couple or the values surrounding them – imagine just for a second that now suddenly the tables have turned and you get to enjoy being celebrated just for existing and being cute and not really having to work very hard at anything because you were blessed by genetic lottery to just get all the things.
Those are the vibes. Soak ’em up like they’re yours. (And if the only way you’re willing to play along with this visual is imagining the wicked glee of pig’s blood being dumped on Sissy Spacek as Carrie, fine. Whatever gets you smiling and open-minded.) Jupiter is all about opening our minds, and making contact with Venus, he also wants us to open our hearts.
Jupiter in Cancer = Loving Daddy Vibes

Jupiter as Zeus, the ruler of the gods. And your future husband.
Especially with Jupiter in Cancer – this guy is protective, generous, loving, and super sensitive, and pours all of that loving energy into helping support, lift up, and champion his queen. Even if you’re not dating, or if loving dudes are not your thing, this is really sweet astrology for the sacred work of conjuntio, the union of the inner masculine and feminine. Jupiter signifies where your husband (or animus/inner masculine) resides in your chart, and Venus is how you will attract him (in other words, how you will keep the glue of attraction working in your inner alchemical fire).
However. We tend to want conjunctions like this to mean that a semi-truck full of cash and prizes rolls up out front and dumps a bunch of money at us, and a line of suitors appears at the door. It’s generally more subtle than that.
Tread Softly, Eager One
Years ago during a Venus-Jupiter conjunction I met a charming, handsome musician at a house show. I recall sitting on the porch after the show, with everyone chatting about how tonight was a big night astrologically. We could see the two planets love-birding it up above in the night sky. Obviously this is my future husband, I thought. Obviously through this guy I will realize not only my emotional needs for relationship and connection but also all my creative ambitions; he will just rub off on me and, poof! I’ll be self-actualized and content. So then a few months later when he was in town again, we met up, had a date, and he ended up being an obsessive fixation that quickly (but not painlessly) burned out into a regrettable footnote in my dating history.
Moral of the story being: There are no guarantees that the way you personally are touched by this astrology will be permanent, expansive, or even particularly meaningful. Especially if you grasp and jump at it. (See Don’t Hunt for Rhyme for more on how to dance gracefully with what is being offered rather than pounce at life like a ravenous lion, thereby shredding it to sad strips of tendons and bones.)
Instead of grasping and jumping, dear ones, the tango of Venus and Jupiter often transmits its blessings on more subtle waveforms. Especially considering this one is in Cancer, where feelings are quite internal and protected, needs are big, and the world often doesn’t feel like it has room for all the emotional colors one can move through in a day. The bigger and more significant an emotional state, the more important it actually is to move slowly and stay present and non-reactive within our experience of it. This is partly what Jupiter has to show us this week.
Take it From a Cancer (in BOTH Tropical and Sidereal), Babes
Personally, this transit has me in a bit of a mutual Venus-Sun reception, as the Sun is transiting my natal Venus within 1° and transiting Venus-Jupiter conjunction is touching my natal Sun within 3°. Thusly I find myself especially qualified to speak on the Cancerian themes this transit bequeaths unto us. Though a Venus-Sun reception amplified by Jupiter might look for sure like cash-and-prizes astrology, my experience of it was actually quite gentle – positive, yes, but in a friendly, encouraging way. Like a wise, loving hand encouraging me down the path and reminding me to keep my gaze upwards and outwards.
Venus strolling the horizon in her Morning Star mode.

On Day 1 (June 9th), I had an incredibly helpful conversation about a financial issue (Venus and Jupiter both touch money) with a friend who I can be vulnerable with due to mutual trust (key for Cancer). That friendship had been developing over the past few months, and her perspective helped broaden and expand (Jupiter) my long-entrenched feelings of limitation and frustration in this area that was currently bedeviling me (issues related to my natal Venus-Saturn square). Then, during our horizon-expanding call, lo and behold: Instead of charging through the day determined, desperate, and tipping towards resentment, I was presented with an immediate work opportunity for the day.
Sometimes the first line of a new lease on life is simply getting through the conditions of the current one with good humor! I was able to move through the day in a positive state, and found myself also leaning into curiosity about other ways of bringing in money (with Jupiter there is always room for more – more ideas, more options, more perspectives). It felt like the headroom above my usual thinking patterns had been raised and I could suddenly see things with a broadminded, expansive lens. That is a classic Venus-Jupiter contact after-effect: a friend or loved one (Venus) bringing in new perspective or resources that expand our horizons (Jupiter).
A Mindset Shift is No Small Thing
All in all my first blush with this astrology might sound quite subtle. But considering that our inner projector is the source of our reality, shifting the way we think can be a major change in terms of long-term impact. And that’s how you want to think about Jupiter touching any area of your chart. He is a large planet, moves relatively slowly, and the reverberations of contact with him unfold according to a spacious, unhurried timeline, similar to his teacher-planet friend, Saturn. And in Cancer, Jupiterian wisdom is even more likely to evolve over time like deeper ocean currents gradually shifting their way to the surface of Cancer’s sensitive, protective waters.
For Day 2 (June 10th), I found myself in a business meeting and encountered a topic where I usually shrink into scarcity and limitation. But instead, by Jove, I was able to just continue along with the conversation and see things, again, from a perspective that was broader and more oriented to possibility. Instead of shutting down or proceeding with excessive protective emotional gear (which I already have quite enough of thanks to my Cancer Sun, this transit is of course reminding me), I was able to look at things in terms of the longer-term range of possibilities Jupiter could open up through my being more open. I could see that the terms being presented were entirely reasonable, and see them as part of the expansion of my net of possibilities, while also maintaining boundaries around protecting my existing assets – and getting it all in writing. (Cancers are generally good businesspeople.)
Expand Your World Through Loving, Safe Contact with Trusted Others
So, neither of these transit days involved hunky, rich men showing up at my doorstep to shower me with love and money. However, these are just a few examples of how Venus-Jupiter contacts can expand our world through the loving, supportive words and input of trusted others, connections with people who we let into our inner world because we feel safe with them. In Cancer, safety is key. Remember the protective shell of the Crab? That’s there for a reason. Cancer contains multitudes, and all of them can get very sore and grumpy if the Cancerian is not held gently and cooed to from time to time, whether by oneself or by others.
